Imagine a Miscarriage Subject to Criminal Investigation

The Personhood Bill would grant all rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons, citizens, and residents of the state to a fertilized egg. It’s the idea that a human being begins at conception and the purpose of the bill is to prevent any harm to this “person.” Therefore a woman’s decision to maintain her own health by taking certain medications or chemotherapy can be considered reckless endangerment. Any miscarriage could then be subject to criminal homicide investigation.

“The act of unlawfully killing another human being unintentionally” is the legal definition of involuntary manslaughter. How do we determine the difference between a fetus’ inability to develop and a woman’s body rejecting a developing fetus? Is it right to blame a woman and make her accountable for such a traumatic experience?

I’m bringing awareness to the government mandating the biological functioning of our bodies. We should be allowed the human right to govern our own health.
